Artist Bio

David King is a Phoenix-based artist and architect whose intricate engravings bridge the gap between structural precision and cultural narrative. Drawing from four decades of global travel, King creates detailed, textured compositions that explore how architecture has shaped the human condition throughout history.

His practice is informed by a diverse educational background, including a degree from DePaul University, structural engineering studies at the University of Illinois, and specialized research in Feng Shui and Japanese Joinery. King’s work—primarily executed on hardwoods, ceramics, and painted canvas—transforms iconic world sites and local scenes into tactile, three-dimensional stories.

A regular exhibitor in the Arizona art circuit, King is currently preparing for the 2nd Sundays on Mill series and the prestigious Tempe Festival of the Arts in March 2026.
