In college I studied cultural aspects of interior design, knowing that I would be designing workspaces overseas. I studies Chinese Feng Shui and east Indian Mandala cultures. From those studies and my many trips to India (Bangalore and Hyderabad), I was able to see first hand how the Mandala culture of well-being was incorporated into the architecture.
This piece is a 9-layer Lotus symbol, which is known in many cultures.
